ABOUT

Simon McLean is a contemporary artist based in Sydney, Australia, with a practice spanning 25 years. His works combine an array of atmospheric, gestural, and expressive forms, into powerful compositions.

His painting practice is varied, ranging from vivid, abstract styles to his current focus on landscape, figurative and portraiture traditions. His paintings are fluid, atmospheric and lyrical. They captivate the viewer’s eye and take them on a journey through the images. Sometimes meandering, sometimes striking, always powerful. Each journey through the compositions brings with it the promise of intriguing discoveries and fill the viewer with a desire to keep searching.
